Description:
The Long Cane Horse
Trail is an intermediate 25+ mile trail network in Sumter
National Forest between Abbeville and Greenwood, SC. The
trail has plenty of intermediate technical sections
including log and creek crossings, climbing, rooty terrain
and fast descents. The LCHT is multi use so be on the look
out for Equestrians, Hikers and Hunters as they frequent the
trail as well. There is an abundance of scenery and wildlife
along most of the LCHT and it is single track. Most users
access the trail at 505/506 "E", Fell Hunt Camp "A" or The
Big Rock "G" (see USFS map). Be sure to wear bright colors
during hunting season and always yield to horses. This trail
has a website (www.greenwoodmtb.com) if you would like more
info (directions, pics video, maps, ride descriptions etc.)
