Baker's Dozen 2008 will be held at Hickory
Knob Lake Loop located
at Hickory Knob State Park near McCormick
The Baker’s Dozen entry fee
is $35 per rider for a SORBA member and non-SORBA member $45 per rider. There is a limit of
175 riders!!
Paying the entry fee
allows you to compete in the event, a chance to win prizes, liability and excess medical insurance during the
event, and all the water you can drink!!!!!!!!
There will be 9
different classes of teams, solo men, women and single speed; 2-rider men
and coed;
3-rider men and coed and 4-rider men and coed.
An engraved 16-oz pint
glass will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male & female solo riders;
1st & 2nd place single speed; 1st & 2nd
place 2-rider, 1st 3-rider and to the 1st place 4-rider team.

All proceeds from this event go towards trail maintenance and trail
advocacy.

There are no age
requirements for entering Baker's Dozen. There is a waiver that
has to be signed by all riders.
If you are not 18 years old, you will need a guardian to sign on your behalf.
All participants are required to have the following safety equipment:
· CPCS, ANSI or ASTM certified bicycle helmet
· Minimum 10 watt bicycle design light that is operable
· Light mount that mounts either to bicycle handlebars or to a certified
bicycle helmet
· Water or sports drink
The course for the Baker's Dozen will start at the grass field behind the red barn. You will ride the loop clockwise, therefore entering the single track next to the kiosk. You will ride the single track back to the red barn where you will enter the gravel access road next to the work shed. You will go down this access road about 250 feet and turn left behind the work shed into the grass field. You will ride in a designated area next to the tree line back to the scorer tent. This will complete 1 lap.
A lap is about 7.3 miles long with 99% of it single track. There will NOT be any
two-way traffic.
You can setup a day tent in the grass field next to the race trail. There is electricity available and the field has lights that will be turned on at night. There are numerous picnic tables that can be used.
There is no fee to enter the State Park or no parking fee. Parking will be next to the work shed and along the work shed access road.
