Baker’s Dozen 2008 Home Page

Welcome to the Baker's Dozen 2008.  For the past six years, the CSRA chapter of SORBA has been sponsoring the Baker's Dozen event. The Baker’s Dozen event was an idea that grew from a SORBA-CSRA chapter meeting during 2002.  Members talked about having a local endurance event, the kind of talk that rouses the competition. We also needed more money in the chapter so we could pay for the maintenance on our trail equipment.  The decision was made to hold an event for our members and try to make a few dollars. Our members and friends have been supporting and enjoying the Baker's Dozen every year since.

Each Baker's Dozen has made a profit due to all the volunteers helping and the riders support. We have been able to maintain and increase our inventory of trail tools and equipment and purchase an equipment trailer.  SORBA-CSRA has been able to provide these tools and equipment to the volunteers that has provided the community service of maintaining the numerous mountain bike trails in our area. Our most recent purchase is a gas powered hedger. The profits from the Baker's Dozen has also enabled us to support the building of the FATS (both historically and for future growth of Phase 3).
